Rank on Bing uses the open IndexNow protocol to submit sitemap URLs to Bing. IndexNow is the method; Rank on Bing is the product that fetches, submits, and logs.

## Overview

IndexNow is an open protocol for notifying participating search engines about URL changes. Bing supports IndexNow. Rank on Bing is an independent service that uses IndexNow to submit the URLs listed in your sitemap — it is not a Microsoft product.

## How Rank on Bing uses IndexNow

- Fetch the URLs in your sitemap.xml.
- Submit those URLs to Bing using IndexNow.
- Show Bing’s submission responses in the dashboard.
- Re-fetch the sitemap every 24 hours on subscription plans.

## Limitations

An IndexNow ping is a crawl request, not a promise of indexing or ranking. You still need a sitemap and a verification file at the site root.
